LumiTrace Privacy Policy
LumiTrace ("the app", "we") is a drawing and tracing app built to work offline first. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: your photos and drawings stay on your device (unless you choose an AI feature), there is no account, no ads and no tracking. If you leave the setting on, the app sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports that contain no identifier, and you can turn this off at any time.
What stays on your device
- Photos you pick. The app opens photos through the system photo picker. They are processed on your device (for example, the free offline line-art conversion) and are not uploaded, unless you choose AI line art for a photo (see below).
- Camera. The camera is used only to show the live view while you trace and, if you start one, to record a timelapse. Timelapse frames are written to the app's temporary storage on your device and are deleted when you discard the video or after a short time. Videos are saved to your gallery or shared only when you tap Save or Share.
- Your drawings and challenges. Photos of finished drawings (the growth album), your daily-challenge history, streaks and reminder settings are stored only on your device. The app does not back them up or upload them; uninstalling the app or changing phones removes them unless you save them to your gallery first.
- Reminders. If you turn on the daily reminder, it is a local notification scheduled on your device. No push service is used.
- Settings. Language, tips and timelapse preferences are stored locally on your device.
Library updates
The app downloads new designs and the daily-challenge schedule from our content server (lumitrace-assets.cyofun.com, delivered through Cloudflare). These are plain downloads: nothing about you, your photos or your drawings is sent. As with any web request, the server receives your IP address and the app version in order to deliver the files; we do not use this to identify you.
Anonymous usage counts and crash reports (you can turn this off)
The setting Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage & crash reports is on by default and can be turned off at any time. Turning it off stops both right away and deletes counts that are waiting on the device.
- Usage counts. The app counts a small, fixed list of actions: app opened (at most once a day), onboarding finished, which mode was opened (e.g. camera, lightbox, grid), a tracing session longer than 20 seconds, an AI generation and its outcome (style; ok / blocked / limit / error), the paywall being shown (which screen), a purchase started or completed (lifetime or yearly), a library design opened (free or Pro), a daily challenge completed, and a share card saved. Each count includes only the day, the platform (Android/iOS) and the app version. There is no user ID, install ID, advertising ID or device ID, and no photos, drawings, prompts or text. Counts are queued on the device, sent in small batches every few minutes to our server (lumitrace-ai.cyofun.com, run on Cloudflare) and stored only as daily totals. Your IP address is used briefly to limit abuse and is not stored.
- Crash reports. If the app has an error, a crash report may be sent to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.), which we use to find and fix bugs. A report contains the error and code location (stack trace), the app version, the operating-system name and version, and basic technical details such as the runtime version, number of processor cores, language and time zone. We switch off Sentry's optional personal data: no IP address, user or device name is sent, no screenshots or screen layout, and no performance or session tracking is used. See Sentry's privacy policy: https://sentry.io/privacy/
- We use these counts and reports only to understand which features are used and to fix problems — never for advertising, and we don't combine them with other data. They are not used to track you across apps or websites.
Feedback you send
When you use Settings → Send feedback, we receive the category you chose, your message and, only if you enter it, your email address (so we can reply). The app also attaches the app version, platform, operating-system version, app language and whether you use the free version or Pro (lifetime/yearly). The form shows exactly what is attached before you send. No photos, drawings or device IDs are attached. If you're offline, the message waits on your device and is sent later.
Feedback is stored on our server (lumitrace-ai.cyofun.com, Cloudflare Durable Objects). To prevent spam, the app adds a random feedback-only ID that is stored on our server only in hashed form; it is not linked to purchases, AI requests or usage counts. Your IP address is not stored. We keep feedback for as long as we need it to improve the app and answer you, and we'll delete it (including your email address) if you ask us. Please don't put sensitive personal information in your message.
Purchases (RevenueCat, Apple, Google)
If you buy LumiTrace Pro, payment is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether your device has an active Pro purchase. For this, RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase receipts/transaction history for this app, device and app version information and approximate country (from the store). See RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
AI features (optional, only with your consent)
Some Pro features can create line art with AI. These features are off unless you use them, and the app asks for your consent before the first request. When you use them:
- The text you type or, for AI line art from a photo, a reduced-size copy of the photo you choose (about 1024 px; first a small ~512 px preview to detect what the photo shows and suggest options) is sent over an encrypted connection to our own proxy server, which forwards it to our AI model provider (currently xAI) to generate the image.
- The proxy does not keep your prompt or images after the request is answered, except for short-lived technical logs (time, size, error codes, cost) kept for abuse prevention for up to 30 days.
- Requests are checked automatically for unsafe content. Don't include personal information in prompts.
- We do not use your requests for advertising or sell them.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no advertising or marketing SDKs, no cross-app tracking (no IDFA/AAID), no data sold to anyone.
- No account or sign-in. No contact list, location or microphone access.
- We don't sell or share personal information.
Children
LumiTrace is a general-audience creative tool and is not directed at children under 13. The core features do not need any personal information; usage counts and crash reports contain no identifier and can be turned off in Settings. AI features should be used by, or with permission of, a parent or guardian for users under 16.
Your choices and rights
- You can delete all app data by uninstalling the app.
- You can turn off anonymous usage counts and crash reports in Settings → Privacy at any time.
- You can ask us to delete feedback you sent (tell us roughly when you sent it and, if you gave one, your email address).
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store / Google Play account settings.
- You may contact us to ask about, correct or delete any data connected to a purchase, AI request or feedback (we can only find it with the anonymous ID shown in the app).
Changes
We will update this page and the effective date if the app's data practices change, and highlight important changes in the app.
